Green Tea Bi Luo Chun Selected

SKU: BLC-MQ-T125

sweet refreshing and fruity aroma;

  • To brew tender green tea such as Xihu Longjing, Huangshan Maofeng or Biluo Chun, usually use colorless and transparent glass, with water temperature around 85°c for brewing, but never use boiling water. The non-fermented green tea itself is very tender. Brew with extreme hot water would bring out the bitterness and affect the taste.

    Ratio of tea and water: 1g:50ml (depending on personal taste)

    1. Warm the glass with boiling water then discard water.
    2. After rinse the glass, keep the water kettle unlidded that let the boiling water naturally cool down to about 85°c for later brewing.
    3. Now pour the hot water into a glass up to 70% full.
    4. Using a teaspoon, take an appropriate amount of tea (Generally 3g) and put it into the glass and wash tea leaves quickly to get rid of tiny young tea hair found in good quality biluochun. And drain it.
    5. Then fill up with the hot water along the edge of the glass by using rotating pouring method.
    6. Ready to serve after 30 sec. Refill hot water until 1/3 of tea remaining.

    *Gradually increase steeping time and temperature for subsequent brewing.

Pretty interesting Puerh

I have to readily admit this Puerh is nothing like the Puerh I had drunk when I was a teenager living in Hong Kong during the 70s, where my grandma always served us some 100-year old Puerh tea with deep dark color, was never bitter, but was always "sweet". That I ready the description of this Puerh and learned that it was "raw" and that it should be broken apart and air out. Well, only ordered a sample pack and most of the tea leaves were still clumped together and I did not have the time to air it out. It does have a unique taste, more like a green tea than a fermented black tea. In short, it is really not too bad and possible if I prepare it correctly, it may even taste better. But if you want a tradition Puerh tea, this would not be for you, but if you do not like the strong taste of regular Puerh tea, you may enjoy this one.

A bit disappointing!

I used to drink the Jasmine pearl tea sold by Ten Ren Tea ($37.75 for 4 oz.) and it is not bad, then in the last year or two, their Jasmine pearl tea still smelled good but did not have any taste, something had changed. Therefore I had high hope with this tea. It smelled just as good as that of Ten Ren's but when drinking it, it was bitter and did not have any flagrant of Jasmine tea. Quite disappointing and I do hope the would allow my post. When I was a child, the Jasmine tea I drank in Shanghi restaurants in Hong Kong, with color like that of beer and full of aroma. Sad that it could not be found anywhere.
