Keemun Black Tea

Qimen Black Tea, well known as, is one of the most famous Chinese black teas. Keemun tea is grown and produced in the local of Qimen County, Anhui Province, from the regions of Qimen, Dongzhi, Cizhou, Shitai to the territory of Jiangxi Province. It was honored as the best of black teas.
This inconspicuous light tea has the characteristic of fruity and mild smoky notes in the aroma and a delicate, malty, silky taste which gives a very distinctive and balanced mouth feel. A refined Keemun black tea looks as tight as small slim knots revealed with fuzz. The aroma of Keemun black tea lasts long with notes of floral and orchid-like fragrance. Brewing in boiling water for about five minutes allows the delicate fragrance and mellow flavor to fully exert. Keemun can enhance one's alertness and memory. It is an excellent tea for after meal.
With a relatively short history, it was initially produced in 1875 and quickly gained popularity worldwide, especially in England, and is still used for a number of classic blends. It is regarded as one of the top three fragrant teas in the world. Keemun has owned the best reputation for the black tea, was one of Queen Elizabeth and her royal family's favorite drink. Its name has spread widely, was praised as queen of black tea.
Keemun Mao Feng is probably one of the most well-known varieties. It is sweeter than other Keemun teas due to its earlier harvest time. Other varieties include Keemun Haoya, Keemun Kongfu tea (Keemun Gongfu, or Congou), Keemun New Buds and Keemun Xiangluo (Aromatic Snail), a new variety of Keemun tea.
